What is still awaited
A brief notification announces the recruitment and its timeline; the full rules come in the detailed notification, which APPSC has said will be released on or before 10 November 2026. Until then, treat anything you read elsewhere about the following as unconfirmed:
- The post-wise and category-wise break-up of the 686 vacancies.
- Educational qualification and age limits, with category relaxations.
- The application procedure and the documents to upload.
- The scheme and syllabus of the Screening Test and the Main Examination for this cycle.
- The dates of the Screening Test and the Mains.
How the selection works
The brief notification lists three stages. Based on the scheme on our exam pages (confirm it in the detailed notification):
- 1. Screening Test (Prelims) — One objective paper of 150 questions in 150 minutes across Indian History, Geography, Indian Society, Current Affairs and Mental Ability. It shortlists candidates for the Mains; its marks are not added to the final merit.
- 2. Main Examination — Two objective papers of 150 marks each — AP social and cultural history with the Indian Constitution, and the Indian and AP economy with science & technology. The Mains decides merit.
- 3. Computer Proficiency Test — A qualifying test for the posts where it applies; the detailed notification will name them.
